Watercolor Process 04

Here is another time-lapse “paint with me” video of my evening practice working with watercolors, gouache and a bit of mixed media in three different sketchbooks. It all began with a warm-up exercise I enjoy doing, which involves painting in a vintage book.

I was drawn to the phrase “lines converge” and let it direct this evening’s practice. A lot of random abstract backgrounds, simple mark-making, patiently waiting for pages to dry, collage, and my favorite thing - incorporating song lyrics. It’s all very beginner-friendly, if you are interested in this sort of thing. This was all to experiment with colors + brushes + shapes, and to enjoy the process, of course.
